Avery McDonad, RP, MACP, BA

Not everyone who has struggled in therapy has failed at it. Sometimes the approach simply was not right for what they were carrying. Avery built her practice around exactly that reality.

Avery is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a particular depth of training in dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), delivered with the rigour and fidelity the model was designed to require. She works with teens, adults, and older adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, OCD, ADHD, grief, and relational challenges, with a reputation for working effectively with people who have found other approaches insufficient.

Her therapeutic style is integrative and highly individualized. She draws from DBT, CBT, ACT, IFS, ERP, somatic approaches, and trauma-focused therapy, weaving them together based on what each client genuinely needs rather than defaulting to a single model. Sessions with Avery are warm, non-judgmental, and grounded in a deep respect for the complexity of the people she works with.

Avery has no waitlist and is available for short-notice consultations. If you have been waiting to find the right fit, this may be it.
