Melissa Lerner, RP(Q), MACP
You might be a parent watching your child struggle at school and not knowing how to help. You might be managing your own ADHD diagnosis later in life, navigating perimenopause, or trying to hold everything together while caring for your kids and your aging parents at the same time. Melissa works with exactly these moments.
Melissa is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and brings a background as a former K-6 teacher and ADHD specialist that few therapists can offer. She works with children, teens, and adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, school challenges, and major life transitions.
As both an educator and a therapist, Melissa bridges emotional wellbeing with academic success, helping parents understand what is happening at school while supporting their child emotionally at home. She draws from CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches, adapting her style to whoever is in the room, whether that is a child building confidence or an adult navigating a season of change
Melissa became a therapist after experiencing the impact of counselling in her own life, including her own later ADHD diagnosis. That personal journey is part of why her clients describe her work as genuinely understanding rather than clinical. She is currently accepting new clients for virtual sessions.
